Hello! And Welcome

I am passionate about educating the horse. I love watching them learn. I believe in doing what fits the horse and what makes sense to him. I have no need for surcingles, draw-reins, martingales or other equipment that forces our needs on the horse. I'm interested in building a working relationship through trust and respect. I am here to help you and your horse find TRUE UNITY and willing
two-way communication. Through the establishment of this communication your horse will become more gentle and supple. I work with the horse's mind, body and spirit. This way applies to all disciplines....English or Western. I am located near Locust Dale, VA. I look forward to helping you and your equine friend.

The horse learns from the release, not the application of pressure
How the horse operates is a reflection of the human and what's going on inside
Riding comes down to feel, timing and balance. If the human can learn to feel of the horse, it's a start to understanding what's taking place in the horse.

Starting in March, John will be co-instructing a Horsemanship and Human Health Class. The class will be offered through Piedmont Virginia Community College Workforce Services. Gail Todter, Ph.D. will also be teaching the class. The class will be divided up between horse working days and class room days. Gail and John will help students understand how they can improve their health and relationships using horsemanship principles. Students will learn how they can improve their life skills through the ideals used to help the horses. For more information on the course click on the class title.
We thought we would share with you some pics of Bull Run Hunting through our ranch on Thanksgiving Day. They were really looking fine.
