Here is more of John's leather work. Let us know if there's something that you need and we'll see if we can create it for you. John started out just doing repair work for the local fox hunters and still offers tack repair to folks in need of good workmanship and a fast turn around.
I really enjoy creating things in rawhide and leather. I would love to create something for you. John Sanford
This is the first pair of chaps John has made. They are based on the Great Basin style with the fringe around the top. They also have a piece of latigo that ties in the front instead of a buckle, which also goes back to the Great Basin style. The zippers are laced in with rawhide. If they ever need replacing, it is easier to do with the rawhide. All the fringe is hand cut, as is the "rocking T" brand.
These are a few more mugs John has made for folks around Central Virginia. The one to the left has horse hair laced and braided around the top.
This is a really simple little business card holder that John made from skirting leather.
Above is a sheath for a pocket knife that John made for himself about 5 years ago. It is based on the loop style western holster. The lanyard that hangs from the base of the knife, John braided from rawhide
John made is own cell phone holder from chap leather. The front and back are laced together instead of being stitched. The fringe is a twisted style. The concho is a stainless piece from Jeremiah Watt.
Simple, but functional.
This is a set of buckrolls John just finished. Let us know if we can make a set for you.
