Colt Starting
This is a wonderful Horsemanship pocket guide
written and illustrated by John Sanford. It is spiral bound, double laminated & 3”x5”. It is a step by step instructional guide of groundwork exercises. It’s designed so you can easily carry it in your shirt or hip pocket. The exercises within are the same ones you will see on colt starting videos by horsemen
like Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman and others.
This is a must have if you are working with a youngster or sharpening the skills of your older horse. This is your first step on your journey towards better horsemanship.

Beyond Green Broke
This is the second book in a series by John on
educating the horse, as well as the human. It is the same 3”x5” format as the first. There are diagrams and pictures to help with operating the horse more accurately. This book is great for advancing your young horse or polishing an older horse. The exercises in this book are taken directly from John's years of riding in clinics with master horsemen Ray Hunt and Buck Brannaman. They are some of the same ones you'll be doing when you ride with these fine horsemen.
A must for the student of horsemanship.

New Flags are here!
The Horseman's Flag
The stick is made with 1/4 high tensile stainless steel rod.
The handle is made from Osage Orange wood and is really pretty. They were turned on a lathe and are slightly thicker in the middle. The flag material is ripstop nylon. Replacement material is available if needed. Colors are red, green, and white. John feels this new deisgn will be the last flag you'll ever need. They are superior to the fiberglass sticks with the golf style grips.
The fiberglass has a tendency to splinter and rubber handle gets gummy. Not pictured is the leather loop that attaches through a hole at the end of the handle.

Rope Halter
These are hand tied by John. The halter is a soft 1/4" nylon arborist rope. The lead is a soft 1/2" nylon arborist rope 12' long. The arborist ropes are very abrasion resistant, yet easy to handle and tie. John does not use any metal hardware that could break and injure you or your horse. Black and white are the only colors available. John thinks it makes a great contrast to the black and white truth of the horse.
Let us know if you need a size other than for an average horse. We can do custom orders.

Hackamore Shaping Block
Made from well dried mahogany, these blocks have been sized to fit the average QH head.
John's horse Cody was used for the measurements. It is perfect for all types of bosals.
The leather lace is long enough for most sizes up to at least one inch nose bands.

The Cowboy's Coffee Mug
Everyone finally talked John into creating copies of his good looking coffee mug.
This is an all-stainless steel mug with a saddle leather sleeve. The front is hot-branded with John's "rocking-t" brand. The back is laced with rawhide. It has been lightly oiled. It feels great and will continue to age and darken as you use it. Sleeve is removable so you can clean your mug. John is working several different styles, some with a braided horse hair border, some with tooling and stamping. Let us know if you have a particular logo you would like burned or stamped on the sleeve and we'll see what we can do.
$20.00

The mug to the left is John's mug, he has been using for a few years now. It was originally an un-finished leather. No leather conditioner was applied to this sleeve. The leather has darkened through use. The oil from your skin as well as the oil from your coffee will continue to add character to your sleeve just like a good saddle or pair of chaps.
High Line Tie
This is a way of tieing horses from over head. It can be used in a barn, or outside on an over head rope or cable. This tie is very sturdy. It's made of the same rope as John's lead ropes. The metal ring and metal swivel have both been used by John for years. The tie is about 48" long. John likes using the high tie because its safer should a horse pull back. There is less risk of injury to the horse. Unlike cross-ties, its nearly impossible for a horse to flip himself over while tied.

Horseman's Scratches Remedy
This remedy is for treating those scabby scratches on the horse's legs.
This salve was developed by John from years of research and testing. It has antifungal, antibacterial, and antiinflamitory properties, as well as being water resistant. Complete instructions on its use are on the 16 oz jar.
